About Us

Field Management Services (FMS), founded in 1995, is a professional engineering company dedicated to all aspects of EMF and EMI consulting and services. FMS principals all have decades of experience working with EMF/EMI/RFI – some, more than 30 years. FMS is headquartered in Los Angeles, with regional offices in New York, the Washington DC Metro area, Dublin Ireland, and operations through technology partners in Taiwan, UK, Israel, Japan, and Singapore.

FMS’ Electrical and Professional Engineers and technical staff provide a full range of services including, electromagnetic field (EMF) and radio frequency (RF) surveys, source definition and field characterization, computer simulation and modeling studies, design and implementation of field mitigation strategies.

Our advanced computer simulation and modeling capabilities include 3-Dimensional Field mapping and Modeling Analysis (BIM-B, BEM, and FEM). We are unique in our HEMP (High Altitude Electromagnetic Pulse) engineering experience, a capability of increasing importance in EMF/EMI engineering.

FMS’ practice is dedicated exclusively to the assessment and remediation of interferencemed1 from electric and magnetic fields (DC, Quasi –DC, Broadband AC, Radio Frequency), in frequencies ranging from DC to 300 GHz. Our expertise is based in solid science. Prior to founding FMS, the principals spent two years in primary research into shielding effectiveness and materials performance.

In twenty plus years serving clients, FMS’ expertise has grown, and our ability to navigate the complexities (and politics) of a major construction site or multi-million dollar research laboratories doing cutting edge science has contributed to our success. We solve problems working collaboratively with other professionals and trades to create ultra-quiet facilities.

What-is-Electronics-EngineeringAs science and medicine have developed increasingly accurate instrumentation requiring atomic-level stability, FMS has been and continues to be at the leading edge of the mitigation and construction technology required for proper functioning of these sensitive instruments.

FMS has developed extensive expertise in Light Rail systems by working intensively with clients on both sides of the issues, with rail systems, the university or the municipality responsible for implementing campus transit systems.

Field Management Services’ staff of engineers and professionals includes domestic and international experts in EMF consultation and services. See our Consulting & Services page and the Markets we serve: Research Laboratories, Medical Facilities, Educational Facilities, Transportation, Government and Commercial Facilities.

Recent Projects

FMS as the EMF/EMI Consultant designed and installed the passive and active mitigation systems for this newly established interdisciplinary organization under the Office of Research of the University of California Irvine (UCI) to house state of the art electron-microscope labs (4 imaging cells). The project required analysis of interference potential of all internal and external emission sources, which included vehicle and facility elevators (DC), broadband electrical system (AC) sources, etc.

Harvard LISE

FMS was engaged as the project’s EMI Consultant by the project architect (Wilson Architects) to conduct an electromagnetic field (EMF) analysis in an existing laboratory (shell space) located in the basement level of the Harvard CNS facility.

Seattle Children’s Research Institute is currently in the construction phase of ”Building Cure”, a 540,000 square foot research building, which will be dedicated to developing therapies for children with diseases such as Cancer, Type 1 Diabetes and Sickle Cell Anemia.

Un. of Illinois Urbana-Champaign Electrical and Computer Engineering Bldg.

FMS was engaged to conduct a thorough assessment of the building’s design for EMI interference threat concerns to sensitive research equipment. A document review and extensive 3-Dimension computer simulation studies were conducted to evaluate EMF emissions from the building’s electrical distribution, mechanical and other systems.

Over its 20 years, FMS has successfully completed hundreds of EMI projects which included a diverse range of consulting and mitigation services.
