WVUE-FOX 8:

WVUE-FOX 8 – Benson Tower is a 5,800 square foot studio project designed by Eskew+Dumez+Ripple. The studio allows Fox 8 to broadcast newscasts and special events with the fantastic backdrop of Champions Square, in addition to supporting the New Orleans Saints “Game-day” broadcast from the adjacent Mercedes-Benz Superdome.

FMS was engaged by EDR as the project’s EMF Consultant. Over the course of the project, FMS performed a series of EMF measurements within the planned studio suite, the first floor electrical substation, and second floor switchgear room. FMS also performed a series of magnetic field computer models of the studio to assess the potential for electromagnetic interference.

As a result of the existing site conditions, the computer modeling analysis and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) requirements for the planned studio equipment, EMI mitigation in the form passive shielding was installed and the studio commissioned in August 2012.
