Hudson Yards:

Hudson Yards is the largest private real estate development in the history of the United States and the largest development in New York City since Rockefeller Center. It is anticipated that more than 24 million people will visit Hudson Yards every year. The site will ultimately include more than 17 million square feet of commercial and residential space, 5 state-of-the-art office towersmore than 100 shopsa collection of restaurantsapproximately 5,000 residences, a unique cultural space, 14 acres of public open space, a 750-seat public school and an Equinox® branded luxury hotel with approximately 200 rooms—all offering unparalleled amenities and easy access to transportation for residents, employees and guests.

FMS was engaged from the project’s inception and continues today, assessing existing and future EMI threat conditions for the project. The project required an extensive analysis of the interference potential of all AC (60 Hz) magnetic field and RF sources internal and external to the new towers. To characterize existing EMI conditions, an extensive broadband EM survey of the existing rail yard operations and state-of-the art 3-D computer modeling and simulations were conducted.

FMS reviewed all phases of the project’s design and construction documents and advised the project’s design team of potential EMI threat concerns and recommended mitigation measures.
